A couple years ago my stepdaughter and her boyfriend were offered a free cruise to the Caribbean, but my stepdaughter wasn't going to go and leave her cat without someone to watch him.
I volunteered to fly from Michigan down to where they lived in Florida to babysit the cat for the week.
Friends and family members thought I was crazy to go all the way to Florida to babysit a cat. I said, I'm going to Florida with a free place to stay, leaving the winter weather of Michigan in February, hanging out on the beach, what's not to understand about that. I just have to feed the cat, and then go have fun.
I traveled down my Canon G16 point and shoot with plans to do a little plant and flower Phtography.
I spent one day walking around the condo complex where they lived checking out all the tropical plant life.
I found this great looking plant with lots of interesting lines but forgot my camera back at the condo. So, I thought I'd come back the next morning with my camera and capture a section of a plant that I liked the formation of lines.
The next morning, I show up with my camera and to my surprise, the exact spot I was planning to photograph, there is a little lizard in a perfect pose.
I was afraid as I moved in close to get the shot it would take off, but luckily it stayed long enough for me to get this shot.
So, I was happy that I didn't have my camera the day before, as I would have missed out on this getting the shot with the lizard.
Sometimes you just get lucky.
